Britney Spears Reveals In New Memoir That Justin Timberlake Convinced Her To Get An Abortion

Britney Spears鈥檚 new memoir, The Woman in Me, drops a shocking account of her abortion, while in a relationship with singer Justin Timberlake.
According to an excerpt from Spears鈥檚 memoir, as reported by , the pop princess reveals that she and Timberlake went to great lengths to keep the abortion secret from the media.聽
‘They Didn鈥檛 Take Me To The Hospital’
At the time, Spears was 19 years old. 鈥淲e also decided on something that in retrospect wound up being, in my view, wrong, and that was that I should not go to a doctor or hospital to have the abortion,鈥� she recalled.
鈥淚t was important that no one find out about the pregnancy or the abortion, which meant doing everything at home.鈥� She was allegedly given, 鈥渓ittle pills.鈥�
鈥淚 went into the bathroom and stayed there for hours, lying on the floor, sobbing and screaming,鈥� Spears wrote. 鈥淚 went down to the ground on my knees, holding the toilet.鈥�
In 鈥渦nbelievable鈥� pain, she recalled that Timberlake decided to get his guitar.
鈥淛ustin came into the bathroom and lay on the floor with me. At some point he thought maybe music would help, so he got his guitar and he lay there with me, strumming it鈥� Still, they didn鈥檛 take me to the hospital.鈥澛�
‘Our Relationship Was Too Important To Me’
According to Spears, Timberlake convinced her to get the abortion because he, 鈥渄idn鈥檛 want to be a father.鈥�
鈥淛ustin definitely wasn鈥檛 happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren鈥檛 ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young,鈥� Spears wrote.
鈥淎bortion was something I never could have imagined choosing for myself, but given the circumstances, this is what we did. If he didn鈥檛 want to become a father, I didn鈥檛 feel like I had much of a choice. I wouldn鈥檛 want to push him into something he didn鈥檛 want. Our relationship was too important to me.鈥澛�
