Gay nudist group turns 20
Founded by community member Rod Spark in 1991, Sydney Sunboys was the city鈥檚 first gay social nudist group and this year celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Described as 鈥榓 group for men who want to explore being naked with other men in a non-sexual environment鈥, the group was born out of Spark鈥檚 overseas travels.
鈥淎fter travelling extensively in Europe and North America in the late 鈥80s, I 鈥榙iscovered鈥 gay nudism,鈥 Spark said. 鈥淲hen I returned to Australia in 1990 I asked myself why are there none here. I collected a group of friends together to host the first event and it has been a lifelong experience since then.
鈥淢any of the original Sunboys are still avid nudists and still some of my best friends.鈥
To celebrate the 20th anniversary, the Sunboys will host a get-together at a private residence in Neutral Bay on November 5.
To attend, register on the Join Us page 鈥 you will be sent an acknowledgement with details of the event.
