Bond star marries his gay Australian partner
English James Bond star Ben Whishaw has confirmed he has married his partner, Australian composer Mark Bradshaw. The couple met back in 2009 on set of the film Bright Star. Whishaw is best known for his role as the young Q in the most latest Bond film Skyfall.
When interviewed in gay magazine Out in March 2011 Whishaw was asked whether it was important for young gay people to have positive role models. Whishaw replied: “I feel in my heart that it鈥檚 important, but I don鈥檛 quite know yet the way to go about that. Maybe that鈥檚 the transitional thing I feel I鈥檓 in the middle of at the moment.”
Whishaw鈥檚 spokesman confirmed the civil partnership, saying: “Ben has never hidden his sexuality, but like many actors he prefers not to discuss his family or life outside of his work”.
