THE internet has decided that the titular monster from the 2014 film The Babadook is our new queer icon, just in time for Pride Month.

As has reported, the film somehow made its way into Netflix鈥檚 LGBT Movies listings.

While the categorisation may have been in error, viewers have gone with it, declaring that the monster is gay and our new LGBTI icon.

People have taken to social media to joke about the Babadook鈥檚 place in LGBTI culture.

鈥淏reaking News: HRC to honor The Babadook with the Visibility Award,鈥� tweeted one person.

鈥淚 take back everything I鈥檝e said about Tumblr,鈥� wrote comedian Thomas Violence.
