Packed to the Rafters actor, Hugh Sheridan recently revealed that they were married to a fellow entertainment industry figure for the past nine years.

Sheridan who uses they/them pronouns spoke on Jessica Rowe鈥檚 Big Talk Show and revealed the secret wedding took place on 11th July 2011. Despite not revealing the star, the pair managed to keep the nuptials on the down low for almost a decade.

鈥淚 can鈥檛 say their name because they were in the same industry, so. Couldn鈥檛 really be specific about that, but I was married,鈥 Sheridan said.

鈥淲e were solidly together for about seven and then the last couple we were travelling a lot and it got too hard and, but we鈥檙e still very good friends.鈥

People Are Entitled To Privacy

Sheridan went on to explain why they kept the marriage secret from the public, disclosing it only to friends and family, saying that they 鈥渢hink privacy is personal and I think most people should be entitled to it.鈥

鈥淚 was finding increasingly, if you don鈥檛 speak out about your private life, people can assume that you鈥檙e ashamed or that you鈥檝e got some sort of an agenda or that you are denying other people their self-expression by not talking about it.鈥

The pair divorced a few years ago, with Sheridan poking fun at their now single status.

鈥淚鈥檝e gotta get married a few more times,鈥 Sheridan joked.

鈥淭here鈥檚 plenty more engagements to come, and I am definitely single. I can confirm that right now.鈥

Broken Engagament

The actor was close to tying the knot with their ex-Kurt Roberts but announced in November that the engagement was off. This announcement came after an eight-month relationship.

鈥淚 didn鈥檛 think it would be right to not say 鈥楬appy Birthday鈥 to an amazing and caring human, but also not be false cause whether it鈥檚 right or wrong; transparency is what I promised you all,鈥 they wrote.

鈥淔or now we didn鈥檛 make it, but we tried very, very hard, I鈥檓 so sorry for us that it wasn鈥檛 easy and I鈥檓 sorry for the added pressure.鈥
