Trans woman makes history as as winner of Holland’s Next Top Model
FOR聽the first since the international聽Next Top Model聽series was聽launched in the US in 2003, the reality TV franchise聽has crowned its trans woman as its winner.
The landmark achievement occurred in the The Netherlands’ instalment of the series this week, with 20-year-old hairdresser and makeup artist Loiza Lamers聽winning the聽eighth season of Holland’s Next Top Model.
Lamers is not the first trans* contestant on the show. In the 11th season of the original聽US聽version 30-year-old Isis King was a contestant and has since appeared in magazines like Seventeen, Out and Teen Vogue talking about trans* models.
