How ‘Teen Wolf’ Series Helped Tyler Posey Accept His Queerness

American actor Tyler Posey in a recent interview, revealed how the TV series Teen Wolf helped him to accept his Queerness.聽

While talking with Gay Times in the lead-up to the release of Teen Wolf: The Movie, Posey, 31, talked about how the series gave him confidence that he could be his true self and be accepted.聽

‘Helped Not Let The Subject Die In My Head’

鈥淸Teen Wolf] definitely helped not let the subject die in my head. It was constantly there and it was constantly being accepted,鈥 he said.

鈥淔or me, it was easier to not be ashamed about what I was going through. I was just instilled with this idea of acceptance for who I am.

鈥淚 owe that to the show, but also just the way that I鈥檝e grown up and who I am and who I want to inspire people to be; to just be yourselves with no shame. I think that all played a part in that.鈥

Went Public In 2021

Posey went public with his queerness in 2021.聽聽At the time, in an interview with NME, he said, 鈥淪omeone asked if I鈥檇 been with men [as well as women], and I said yes.鈥

He went on to say, 鈥淚鈥檝e been with everybody under the sun, and right now I鈥檓 in the best relationship that I鈥檝e ever been in with a woman, and she鈥檚 queer too.

鈥淪he鈥檚 helped me realise that I fit under the queer umbrella and that I鈥檓 sexually fluid.鈥

Teen Wolf: The Movie will be released on Paramount+ on January 26.聽

It also stars Crystal Reed, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, JR Bourne, Orny Adams and Colton Haynes, Linden Ashby, Melissa Ponzio, Ryan Kelley, Seth Gilliam, Ian Bohen, Dylan Sprayberry, Vince Mattis, Khylin Rhambo, Amy Workman, Nobi Nakanishi, and Tyler Hoechlin.

The series, Teen Wolf debuted in 2011 and ran till 2017.聽
