Hugh Sheridan Comes Out As Non Binary
Hugh Sheridan has come out as non-binary, eight months after they revealed that they were attracted to both men and women. Sheridan made the announcement via Instagram, coinciding with an interview for the cover of this month鈥檚 DNA Magazine.
鈥淚鈥檇 begun to publicly acknowledge being gay. A lot of people were congratulating me; a lot of people were angry and unkind to me about being open about my sexuality,鈥 they told DNA magazine, adding that they were 18 when they first realised, they were attracted to men, but it wasn鈥檛 until late last year that they publicly came out.

鈥淚 just want to be human. I understand labels are important for so many people. I鈥檓 just saying for me, I wanted my label to be 鈥楬uman鈥.
Sharing the cover image on Instagram, Sheridan 聽 鈥淚 am still a human (non binary/bi/me/Hughman) but I鈥檓 in a monogamous relationship with another human, who I love. Seriously he is the most binary person I have seen in a long time.
We fall in love for different reasons. It’s a beautiful period of our lives.
Good on Hugh for being true to himself. I can understand people who don’t want to be labelled or put in boxes (although by doing this, we handicap ourselves in our fight for our rights, because we in effect tie our own hands behind our backs). However I do find his adoption of the Royal plural rather silly.
Wow who cares?
